When should you cover your dog?

When winter and cold weather arrive, we instinctively adapt our habits: coats, scarves, gloves. However, during walks, our dog often continues to brave the cold without any changes. And even if they don't complain, they too can get cold. A dog doesn't say "I'm cold," but their body feels it.
Not all dogs are made for the cold
Small, short-haired dogs, as well as elderly or fragile dogs, lose body heat more quickly. Wind, humidity, and snow penetrate their fur, cooling their back, belly, and joints.
A dog coat or sweater acts as a protective, soft, and reassuring barrier, allowing them to remain comfortable during walks.
More than just clothing, a gesture of care
Putting a coat or sweater on your dog isn't dressing them up. It's offering them:
- warmth when they need it.
- comfort during winter outings.
- protection against cold-related pain.
- the joy of continuing to go outside without discomfort.
A dog that is warm walks better, sniffs more, enjoys more. They feel good… and it shows.
Caring for them, down to the smallest detail
Choosing a well-fitting and comfortable coat or sweater is extending their daily well-being. It's also a simple way to tell them: "I'm looking out for you, even when it's cold."
Because they accompany us every day, they wait for us, they love us unconditionally… they deserve for us to think of them, down to the small details.
At Pattes & Velours, we experience this daily with our little Kitty… Give your dog warmth too.
